The Haliburton Highlands Cycling Coalition is planning a fun and exciting event to promote bicycling in the highlands. “Shifting Gears – Haliburton’s Celebration of Cycling” will be a day-long event on Saturday, May 27, in Head Lake Park, Haliburton.
The goal of this first-ever festival is to promote cycling in Haliburton as a physical activity that is healthy, accessible and safe for people of all ages. We hope that through participating in “Shifting Gears”, more people will start cycling, will increase their cycling skills and will be more aware of local cycling opportunities.
The “Shifting Gears” program will include cycling activities for all ages and skill levels of cyclists. Some examples include mountain bike skills for children, introductory cycling for adults, bike skills rodeo for children, as well as a variety of guided rides on local trails and roads.
