Get into Gear for the 2nd Annual Cycling Festival for Haliburton County!

We would like to invite you to participate in Shifting Gears: Haliburton’s Celebration of Cycling (week of June 18th- 23rd) and Festival, Saturday, June 23rd, 2007 – Head Lake Park, Haliburton.

The Haliburton Highlands Cycling Coalition (HHCC) has been working hard to increase the profile of cycling through out the County and to promote cycling as an activity that is fun, accessible and safe for people of all abilities and ages.

Some of the planned activities for the Celebration of Cycling include:
-Record Setting Mass Ride of Cyclists (Haliburton Village, Saturday morning, June 23rd)
-Saturday morning self guided rides leaving from Head Lake Park, returning for music and lunch in the park.
-Film night
-Bike to Work and School Day
-Summer Solstice Ride

We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to show how significant an activity cycling is in our community. The more cyclists that are visible through out the festivities, the more strength we have to demonstrate the demand for improvements to make our County more cycle-friendly.

Stay tuned…and look for more information about the Festival in the coming months.
