Molou Theatre, Haliburton, Thursday, December 13, 7:00pm

Just over three years ago, prolific television writer and London, Ontario, native Paul Haggis took the filmmaking world by storm with his sensational directorial debut, CRASH. It premiered at the 2004 Toronto International Film Festival® and went on to win the 2005 Academy Award® for Best Original Screenplay and Best Picture. Haggis has also scripted several prominent Hollywood features and earned Academy Award nominations for MILLION DOLLAR BABY (2005) and LETTERS FROM IWO-JIMA (2006).

Haggis returns to the screen as the writer and director of IN THE VALLEY OF ELAH, a touching story based on actual events surrounding the mysterious disappearance of a young American soldier. Haggis’s eagerly anticipated film boasts an impressive cast of acclaimed actors, including Tommy Lee Jones (THE FUGITIVE, A PRAIRIE HOME COMPANION), Charlize Theron (MONSTER, NORTH COUNTRY,) and Susan Sarandon (DEAD MAN WALKING, ELIZABETHTOWN).

The Hair Lounge Presents: Dala

The Hair Lounge, 9271 Hwy 118, just east of Hwy 35, Carnarvon, Saturday, December 8, 8:00pm, doors open at 7:00pm

Sheila and Amanda formed Dala soon after their first meeting in their high school music class. In the summer of 2005 these best friends signed a major label deal with Universal Music Canada and their debut album ‘Angels and Thieves’ was released that same year. With vocal harmonies guaranteed to give you chills, the girls also make use of their talents on guitar and piano to create their unique brand of acoustic pop. Dala has won over audiences at festivals across the country, and their fun and energetic stage presence made them a hit on their recent tour opening for Canadian legend Tom Cochrane.

Dala’s second full-length album with Universal Music, entitled ‘Who Do You Think You Are’, hits stores on August 14, 2007. Keep your ears open for the first single ‘Anywhere under the Moon’, and be sure to check out the video on Much More Music!
