The cycling tour of the Stanhope area in the Haliburton Highlands Ontario is new this year, as part of Stanhope Heritage Day Celebrations. (www.stanhopemuseum.on.ca )See pioneer cemeteries, log houses, stone fencelines, a former schoolhouse, St Stephen’s Church Open Doors, a stunning fieldstone house, and sparkling Halls Lake.The route passes through shady fern-lined forest, open marshland and meadow.It’s an almost flat 10 K loop, with an optional additional 4km, perfect for all cycling abilities.Hope to see you this Saturday, 1pm, at Buttermilk Falls – Hwy 35, 7 km north of Carnarvon.
