Haliburton Highlands Business Owner and Musher Iditarod Bound

Men and women from around the world who share a passion dogs and the drive to compete in a thousand mile dog sled race that spans the toughest terrain under the harshest conditions Mother Nature can muster are getting ready. Among them is Winterdance Tour operator and owner, Hank DeBruin. Hank and his 16 dog team will be embarking on this northern rout from Anchorage up to Nome Alaska.

Hank starts the race on March 3rd and is planning to finish the 26 check points in 12 days. Fans of the event and of Hank and Tanya can follow Hank’s progress on the Winterdance Facebook page or on Winterdance Dog Sledding website

This is the time of year that everyone everywhere should start gearing up for this inspiring even: Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life. Beat the Blahs and begin building your team. The Haliburton Highlands Relay for life will take place June 8th, 2012 at the Haliburton High School in Haliburton Village Ontario. Back for its Fourth year in the same location as last year on the Intersection of Highway 118 and 35, beside the restaurant “That Place in Carnarvon”. Buy fresh, local produce and browse selections of fresh baked bread and baked goods, jams , preserves, and artisans crafts. Open from June 15th to August 31 st.
