Haliburton Folk Society is presenting a home routes musical evening with Laura Cortese Duo and the Sunny Rock Bed and Breakfast is inviting you to attend. If you are heading to the Haliburton Highlands this weekend and you would like a terrific place to stay and want us to secure tickets for you please contact us as soon as possible.

THE LAURA CORTESE DUO (Laura Cortese and Mariel Vandersteel) from Massachusetts will be in Gooderham on Saturday April 12, 2014 at the Tamarack.

“Ambition often follows talent, and Laura Cortese has an
embarrassment of both. Her open-armed approach to her art
reveals a determination to spread the word about folk music
and dance without watering down their distinctiveness.”
~ The Denver Post

You can expect fiddle playing, warm vocals, and arresting
original songs. Refreshing musicians of the bountiful New
England post-folk scene.
Laura has made appearances with Band of Horses, Pete Seeger,
Patterson Hood and Michael Franti, and Jocie Adams of the Low Anthem.
