Sally & Jan
I can’t thank you enough for helping to make my first time up to Minden & Algonquin memorable. I found you online and was so excited to get here to see Sunny Rock. It surpassed my expectations. The wonderful breakfasts, great tips on where to visit, the poker game and the conversation made me feel so welcome. Since this is my first time out on my own, I hope you haven’t spoiled my future trips. They have a lot to live up to. Thank you again and can’t wait to come back again!!

Dead Poets Salute the Seven Deadly Sins

Saturday, October 31, 2009 7:30 – 9:30.
The Deads are Rising Again! The Spiritual Advisor of the Dead Poets Society is looking for lively Deads who will select a poem of two to read – guess when? – on Halloween night at the Dominion in spooky downtown Minden. The Deads have been entertaining the elite intellectual class in the County for four years with turns from Poe, Whitman, Donne, Dorothy Parker, just to name a few. A very classy Anias Nin will be reading a piece on – guess what? – Lust. Clever Friends: choose a sin (there’s room for more lust, too) and let the Spiritual Advisor know by emailing Michael Fay at fay.m@sympatico.ca. And, if you just want to quaff an ale or a ruby red wine, come-on-down-to-the-Dominion on Halloween!
