The Haliburton County Folk Society and Camp Wanakita are colaborating towards the creation of the Winter Folk Camp taking place in the Haliburton Highlands Ontario 2 hours North of Toronto. The Winter Folk Camp is a weekend (Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon) full of all kinds of Folk Music created for a social weekend for adults in the Haliburton Highlands Ontario.

The Winter Folk Camp is being held at YMCA Wanakita near Haliburton, Ontario and is intended to be a late winter, affordable get-away with lots of music (concerts, classes, workshops, song circles, jamming and so on) in pleasant wooded surroundings with wonderful camaraderie, comfortable accommodations and great food.

The The Winter Folk Camp program has been designed to engage novice players, more experienced musicians and interested, but not particularly musical, Folk Music devotees. A weekend with us and those dreaded February “blahs” will be banished for another year!

There will be evening concerts on Friday and Saturday featuring our Artists in Residence and showcasing some of our wonderful local talent.

Ample time has been left for a variety of complimentary outside activities (cross country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking etc.) and for jamming, snoozing or anything else you may wish to do.
